Vanesa Pérez-Sauquillo

(Madrid, 1978)

Poet, children’s and young adult author, and translator.

Over the course of her career, she has received several awards, including the Ojo Crítico Award from Spanish National Radio, the Antonio Carvajal Poetry Prize, the Adonáis Prize (Accésit), the Young Art Prize of the Community of Madrid, and the Jovellanos International Poetry Prize. Her poems have been included in numerous national and international anthologies as well as in school textbooks.

She has published many books for children and young readers with publishers such as Alfaguara, Loqueleo, Anaya, SM, and Siruela, among others, some of which have been translated into English, French, German, Turkish, Korean, and other languages.

She regularly gives poetry readings, storytelling sessions with live music, and workshops on poetry, creativity, and children’s literature.
